Do you have kids interested in environmental stewardship?  Would they love the opportunity to develop their leadership skills?

Kids for Urban Trees was formed in 2021 with these goals in mind. The co-founders saw a need to empower kids in Eastern Washington and they hoped to accomplish this by making environmental stewardship fun and engaging.

The co-founders are just kids themselves and over the course of the last 2 years have helped plant over 200 trees throughout Eastern Washington. They’ve given grant presentations; created and delivered speeches to over 70 participants at a time; toured arboretums; designed t-shirts, banners and flyers; all while having a great time!

If you have a kid who would like to plant a tree, or who might be interested in joining the leadership portion of Kids for Urban Trees, please reach out to us. We will tailor their responsibilities to fit their comfort level and age.

Kids for Urban Trees is currently focused on the following goals:

·         planting in low-income neighborhoods

·         pre-planting trees to replacing aging trees throughout Eastern Washington

·         increasing tree canopy to reduce the Urban Heat Island Effect

A large part of our mission at Kids for Urban Trees is to equip children with the right tools for planting. If you would like to borrow child-friendly equipment for your own group planting, please email us with your request.

We would also like to thank our grant supporters: The Three Rivers Community Foundation, and the Pasco and Kennewick Rotary Club. Thank you for your kind support which allows us to keep our Cities green and cool!
